How long does a typical locum tenens contract last?
Contracts will vary in length and can be influenced by the specialty and the needs of the facility. Contracts range in length from a few days to over a year.
I am new to the locum tenens experience, what does my support system look like?
You have 24/7 access to your Account Executive. In addition we have an experienced in-house staff to assist with additional needs that may arise.
Will I need to cover my own malpractice insurance?
We provide Occurrence Based Malpractice Insurance. Your protection as a professional is one of our greatest concerns.
How much control will I have over the location of assignments?
We offer you the opportunity to choose your assignment, including the location, length and preferred clinical setting, while we take care of the details! Our Experienced Account Executives can help create the opportunities that you are interested in and will partner with you during your placements.
Who covers my housing and travel?
Ascend Medical will make arrangements for your travel and housing. This will depend on the needs of the client and your preferences. All details are negotiated by your Account Executive and agreed upon by you and the client.
How does Ascend Medical Staffing pay contracted locum tenens providers?
As a locum tenens provider you will be paid bi-weekly and your travel and housing will be paid as needed. You are considered an independent contractor and taxes are not withheld. You will receive a 1099.
